Monthly Money Horoscopes - May 2012

Aries

While things have ticked along and even ebbed and flowed since Jupiter returned to your income sector last June, this is the month where everything needs to come together. May is always a month when the focus is on your income situation and matters, with the Sun spending the first 3 weeks of every May in your income sector, but there is so much of a back story here that makes this the year when you have a really good shot of inflicting damage on some glass ceilings. For the first time since 2000 the Sun and Jupiter have teamed up in your income sector and with Mercury here from the 9th May to the 24th May, you have the resources and soon the smart head for money to bring things home. It helps that Mars is coming back up to speed and is creating not only some real momentum on the work front, but is eager to start making up for lost time. As your fighting spirit kicks back in, this will combine with a growing sense of confidence on the income front, bringing a real call to action. This is Jupiter's last full month in your income sector and when he aligns with the Sun on the 12th/14th May and Mercury on the 20th May it will be for the first time here since 2000 and for the last time for another 12 years. It's a Full Moon in your financial sector on the 6th May that will create a mix of pressure and motivation, as well as providing some wake up calls and some valuable clues when it comes to financial matters as a whole. There may be some financial intensity from the 5th May to the 7th May, but with your financial instincts sharp this will be the call to action you need.

Taurus

Venus, planet of money, desire and attraction will normally spend less than 4 weeks in your income sector each year but on the 2nd May, when you reach a point where it's been 4 weeks since she arrived it will become clear that she's not going anywhere, anytime soon. Instead of getting ready to leave and instead of feeling the sense of urgency and impatience that normally goes with this, you're more likely to feel unhurried and willing to let things run their course. It may even feel like you're running out of motivation, but it's more that you sense that this year you not only have time on your side, but the money gods as well. Venus is in fact slowing down and on the 16th May will turn retrograde, opening the door to second chances, a chance to retrace your steps and in the process books a further 3 months here, not leaving now until August. Yet this won't shift all the focus onto the past, with the Sun returning to your income sector on the 21st May, a solar eclipse on the same day and Mercury returning on the 24th May, opening the door to new beginnings and opportunities. By this point lucky Jupiter will be just a few weeks away from his return on the 12th June and with support from Saturn in your work sector this sets the scene for some real developments on the income front and will put any glass ceilings in jeopardy. While this is destined to be a good month on the income front, it is in fact the gateway month into some stunning developments.

Gemini

As Pluto spends his first full month in retrograde motion in your financial sector you have a chance to take things slowly and to enjoy the lack of pressure, giving you time to get your bearings, to retrace your steps and to learn as much as you can from the past, in your own time and on your own terms. With Mercury not due to return to your income sector until early next month, when he'll not only get things moving on the income front for the year but also move into opposition with Pluto, things are due to become a more intense over the coming months. This will be good news for income opportunities, but this will create some financial tension, as is usually the case in the middle months of the year. In the meantime you're able to prepare for the income opportunities ahead by getting your professional game up to speed and for any financial challenges ahead by dealing with any financial issues now, in your own time and on your own terms. It's Pluto's retrograde phase in your financial sector that allows you to get a better sense of past financial matters and situation and also to change anything that isn't working. The Moon's visit to your financial sector from the 9th May to the 11th May, will both sharpen your financial instincts and give you a chance to get a read on Pluto's mission to uncover and expose the past. Meanwhile the Moon's return to your income sector from the 23rd May to the 26th May will be his last before Mercury returns, giving you a nose for money and some clues as to which doors to start lining up at, before they open.

Cancer

With no planetary activity in either of your money houses you're left to play things on your own, but after a lot of activity in your financial sector in the earlier months of the year and plenty over the last 16 years, this is something you're more than capable of. With new doors due to begin opening on the income front next month and then staying open during the middle months of the year, make the most of Mercury's final days in your career sector in the early days of the month, to get your professional game up to speed first. With no planetary activity in either of your money houses the Moon's visit to both have become a lot more important. The Moon will visit your financial sector from the 11th May to the 13th May, sharpening your financial instincts and giving you an intuitive read on your financial situation and matters as a whole. The Moon's move through your income sector from the 26th May to the 28th May will give you a nose for money, a read on where things stand on the income front and a sense of where the money is. By this stage you'll be looking ahead to an active 3 months on the income front, which kicks off later next month.

Leo

If it feels like you've spent too long being tossed around inside the money gods' tumble dryer and you've got the scars to prove it, then as well as being over it you're reaching a point this week where you can use this as motivation, with your fighting spirit returning. Mercury's departure from your financial sector last month and Mars' direct turn in your income sector should have seen an end to the oppositions between your two money houses and the financial tension, pressure and challenges this created, but you still have one more hurdle to cross. However this could be more an advantage than a disadvantage, especially with your fighting spirit only intensifying as the month continues. It's the Moon's visit to your income sector from the 1st May to the 3rd May and alignment with Mars on the 1st May, for the first time since the warrior planet of the cosmos turned direct, that will give you a nose for money and bring a call to action. Yet it will be another 2 weeks before Mars goes head to head with his final opposition, with Chiron in your financial sector on the 16th/19th May. This is the last hurdle, but with Mars also receiving support from forces on the work and career fronts at the time, this is more likely to see you come out of your corner fighting. This is the last challenge that Mars has to face before leaving your income sector in July, with any financial pressure more likely to see you spit the dummy and come out of your corner fighting. This is a case of the right buttons being pushed at the right time.

Virgo

Don't be alarmed if the month gets off to an intense start or if you're dealing with financial pressures and tensions, for you are approaching your last hurdle and the last obstacle you need to get through. For the third year in a row, beginning with 2010 as the Sun, Mercury and Venus moved through your financial sector, as they usually do in March and April each year, they've moved into opposition with Saturn, in your income sector since October 2009. The Sun and Venus has moved on from your financial sector, having left their financial desires and sense of objectivity behind, but in the early days of the month Mercury is still here. While this is giving you a smart head for money and has given you extra time to deal with financial matters, it's put off Mercury's third opposition with Saturn in as many years but also his last for another 30 years. That opposition takes place on the 6th May and is not only the last for Mercury but for any planet, with no more oppositions for Saturn before he leaves your income sector and when the planets return to your financial sector next year Saturn will be gone from your income sector. So this really is the last hurdle but also your last chance to really resolve any balance issues between what's coming in and what's coming out. Libra

Even though the focus has been on your financial situation and your money game since Jupiter returned to your financial sector last June, this is the month where everything is coming together, with a chance to also bring things up to speed on the income front as well. This is Jupiter's last full month in your financial sector and due to leave on the 12th June even this would have made this a time for tying up loose ends and bringing things home. But with the Sun always spending the first 3 weeks of May in your financial sector and Mercury moving through from the 9th May to the 24th May, you have the insight and the smart head for money to do this in a smart and objective way. This is the first time that the Sun and Mercury have teamed up with Jupiter in your financial sector since 2000 and their last time for another 12 years, so they're invested in making their only chance to work with the planet of luck and expansion count and to make Jupiter's final month here count. The Sun with align with Jupiter on the 12th/14th May and Mercury will align with Jupiter on the 20th May, creating some auspicious days for financial matters. You can however expect some wake up calls and even some financial tension from a Full Moon in your income sector on the 6th May, with the Moon not only moving into opposition with the Sun but with Jupiter on the same day. As well as bringing anything pending on the income front to a head or to a turning or tipping point, this will also provide some wake up calls on both the financial and income fronts, just when you can least afford to fall asleep at the wheel.

Scorpio

Having Venus, planet of money, desire and attraction in your financial sector can be a bit of a mixed blessing, for while she evokes your financial desires and expectations and triggers the laws of attraction, it can sometimes take a while for reality to catch up. Here Venus has you wanting more and also sensing that more is possible, which can lead to frustration and also some urgency, as she will normally only spend less than 4 weeks here each year. But on the 2nd May that 4 week mark is reached and passed and instead of leaving Venus will slow down, turning retrograde in your financial sector on the 16th May. This opens the door to second chances and a chance to retrace your steps, in the meantime taking away any urgency or frustration, as you sense that both time and the money gods are on your side. Use this chance to focus exclusively on the past, for while Venus will remain in retrograde motion until later next month new doors will start opening just 5 days after she turns retrograde. It's the Sun's return to your financial sector on the 21st May, a solar eclipse on the same day and Mercury's return on the 24th May that will open new doors, turn the headlights onto the road ahead and give you a smart head for money. With lucky Jupiter returning just a few weeks later, the view you'll have at that stage of the road ahead and the road behind will reveal that the money gods are hard at work, creating confidence in all financial matters. If there is financial tension from time to time it will be coming from income forces, which are working to keep you on your toes.

Sagittarius

As Pluto spends his first full month in retrograde motion in your income sector he's enjoying an easy ride. With no planetary activity in your financial sector until next month, the only challenge Pluto and your income situation will face this month will be from the Moon's visit to your financial sector from the 23rd May to the 26th May and opposition with Pluto on the 24th May. Yet even then this is a monthly occurrence and part of the normal pattern, giving you a nose for money and making sure that you're not asleep at the wheel. This will be the Moon's last visit to your financial sector before Mercury returns early next month and as this will put a bit more pressure on Pluto, this will provide some clues as to what you could expect over the coming months. If you do experience any financial pressure around that time pay attention, keeping your head out of the sand and looking behind what might be pushing your buttons and why, aware that you can't change what you can't see. For the most part however Pluto is getting nothing but support, including support from Mercury in your work sector, that peaks on the 14th/15th May and from Mars in your career sector, that peaks on the 16th/19th May. It's the Moon's visit to your income sector from the 9th May to the 11th May, ending a month to the day since Pluto turned retrograde, that will give you a nose for money and a chance to tap into what his retrograde phase has opened the door to. While things are moving forward on the professional front the door is open to second chances on the income front.

Capricorn

Enjoy a relatively quite month on the money front this month, with an active 3 months on the financial front not kicking off until next month. In previous years active months on the financial front, which for you will always fall in the middle months of the year, also meant financial challenges and pressures as this put the Sun, Mercury and Venus in opposition with planetary activity in your income sector. However when Neptune left your income sector in February this brought a nearly 16 year period of planetary activity to an end and when the planets move through your financial sector this year the roadblocks of the past will be gone. With Mercury due to spend 2 months instead of the less than 3 weeks he'll normally spend here, you'll have a chance to really bring your financial situation up to speed. Until then there's nothing to be gained from jumping the gun and everything to be gained from using this month to work behind the scenes, making sure that things are on track and that you're taking care of any financial maintenance or housekeeping. With no planetary activity in either of your money houses this month the Moon's visit to both are more than enough to keep things on track, but require focus while he's here. You'll begin the month with the Moon in your financial sector and your financial instincts sharp, but he'll leave on the 1st May, returning for a full visit from the 26th May to the 28th May. It's the Moon's visit to your income sector from the 11th May to the 13th May that will give you a nose for money, just days before the doors to both new opportunities and second chances open on the work front and professional forces lock into place.

Aquarius

If you're tired of the financial highs and lows, ebbs and flows and the roller coaster ride that financial forces have taken you on, then it's no wonder you're starting to get angry and in fact it's that anger that you need to harness and channel. This is coming from Mars, warrior planet of the cosmos, who is spending his first full month in direct motion in your financial sector and after having moved into opposition with too many planets over recent months, creating financial tension, he's ready to start fighting back. It was the planets moving through your income sector over recent months that created the tension, yet it's the kind of tension that has forced you to raise the bar and once it's finally behind you will prove to be a blessing in disguise. Mercury left your income sector last month, bringing an active and defining 3 months on the income front to a close, but that doesn't mean that Mars is out of the woods or that the financial pressure is over. Mars has one more hurdle to get past and that's an opposition with Chiron in your income sector, on the 16th/19th May. This is the third time that they've moved into opposition since Mars returned to your financial sector last November, but it's also the last Mars will face. This will provide one last chance to bring things to a head, but also to tap into the fighting spirit this will evoke. With Mars not leaving your financial sector until July you're able to use this as motivation, especially as a sense of financial confidence and resolve is likely to kick in at the same time.

Pisces

Don't be put off by any financial pressure and tension at the start of the month or see this as an indication of what kind of month to expect, for this is something that will be over within the first 10 days of the month. Any tension is coming from the fact that Mercury, already in his final days in your income sector where he's giving you a smart head for money, is moving towards his third opposition with Saturn in your financial sector in as many years, but also his last for another 30 years. When the Sun and Venus moved through your income sector over recent months they had one final opposition with Saturn to face as well, but Mercury has managed to dodge this, until now. Mercury and Saturn will go head to head on the 6th May, but with the Moon in your financial sector from the 3rd May to the 6th May you're going to feel it building from then. Yet with Mercury's smart head for money working to tie things up on the income front and Saturn's pragmatic and unyielding call for financial responsibility and as it's their last standoff for another 3 decades, they'll be looking to find a compromise. Even if this brings things to a head and creates a lot of tension at the time, on the other side there is the potential for a real breakthrough. From the 7th May you'll notice a big change and with Mercury leaving your income sector on the 9th May there'll be a chance to tie up loose ends and bring things home on the income front. Once Mercury is gone there'll be no more pressure on Saturn and your financial sector and by mid month you'll not only feel your financial confidence returning, but a sense that you really are the master of your own destiny.
