General

Any year that begins with a lunar eclipse in your sign has to be a good one, for it is giving you your power back from Day 1. For most of the world, outside New Zealand and Australia this falls on New Years Eve, making it a Blue Moon, but down under it is the Full Moon in your income sector on the 30th January that will be a Blue Moon. For a Moon ruled sign, a month that begins and ends with the Moon in control has to be a good one. It’s the Full Moon on New Year’s Day that draws a real line in the sand, making it clear that there will be no old baggage welcome in 2010. This happens just as a powerful line up of forces in your relationship sector prepare for a solar eclipse on the 15th January. One of your most exciting events in a decade takes place on the 18th January when Jupiter, planet of luck moves out of your financial sector and into your sector of travel, adventure, learning and discovery, kicking off what is destined to be one of the most exciting years in a very long time.

Love

One of the most extreme line ups ever to assemble in your relationship sector greets you as you move into the New Year, leaving you in no doubt that sitting on the fence, staying in a rut or resisting change is out of the question. Venus, planet of love is flanked by the Sun, Mercury, Pluto and the North Node, a line up that has never before assembled at the same time in your relationship sector and will never again assemble in your lifetime. With Pluto, planet of change and revolution calling for change and the North Node providing a sense of direction and bringing a lot of fate into play, things are taking on a life of their own. Take a hands off approach around the time of this month’s solar eclipse, falling in your relationship sector on the 15th January. Fate is firmly in control, with a need to respond to which way the cosmic winds are moving.

Money

There is no way that I could over state or exaggerate the financial importance of this month, for it has the power to define things for the rest of your life. As we move into the New Year Mars, planet of passion, drive and ambition is in retrograde motion in your income sector and has been since the 21st December, so there is little urgency there. So if you can, put any income matters or moves on hold until later in the month, preferably until after the 18th January. Until then Jupiter, planet of luck is in his final days in your financial sector and until he leaves on the 18th January he’ll be working with Neptune, planet of dreams to cement the financial dreams that will motivate you for the rest of your life. He’s also working with Chiron, planet of healing to finally heal any old financial scars and lay any old fears and demons to rest. While Jupiter will return in 11 years time, never again in your lifetime will he join up with Neptune and Chiron in your financial sector. On the 19th January, a day after Jupiter leaves Venus, planet of money and desire moves into your financial sector, followed a day later by the Sun. From then on it’s ‘game on’, with both the Sun and Venus moving into opposition with Mars between the 27th and the 30th January, culminating in a Full Moon in your income sector on the 30th January which has the power to be a catalyst for a major breakthrough on either the income or financial fronts or both.

Business

Apart from any unfinished projects that you're carrying over from 2009, there is no professional urgency this month and none until your career sector becomes active on the 8th March. This allows you to get off the fast track and focus on two very different but complimentary agendas. On one hand this allows you to step back from the coal face, focusing less on getting the job done and giving you time to explore your long term professional goals. At this stage all you can see is some very ordinary career opportunities, still a few months away, that you would normally find in March and April each year. They’re obscuring your view from the huge career opportunities due to open up in the middle of the year, but as an intuitive sign you're already picking up on them, so there needs to be a lot of long term projecting this month. The other agenda is a financial one, for you haven’t yet reaped all you can from the huge amount of effort put in over recent years. It’s time to start calling in some I.O.U.’s from the heavens.
