Monthly Business Horoscopes - May 2012

Aries

Despite the fact that Pluto is spending his first full month in retrograde motion in your career sector and will remain in retrograde motion until September, you should feel the professional pace pick up considerably this month, especially on the work front. It was Mars' direct turn in your work sector on the 14th April and the slow turnaround and rebuild in the later weeks of April that has you ready for a fresh start and to really get things moving. The Moon's visit to your work sector, from the 1st May to the 3rd May, his first since Mars turned direct, will bring together a potent mix of emotion and passion that is likely to ignite your fighting spirit and provide the trigger to get things moving again. Mars will normally spend just 6 weeks in your work sector every other year, but he's already been here since November 2011 and not due to leave until early July, you haven't even begun to tap into how far this can take you. As the month progresses Mars will continue to gain speed and momentum and as he does, expect the pace and intensity to pick up on the work front, with life only getting busier as the days pass. With support from Pluto in your career sector and the Sun, Mercury and Jupiter in your income sector there is a chance for a real turnaround, though you will need to pace yourself and avoid burnout. Where you've been holding back you need to give it all you've got, putting everything you have into everything you do.

Taurus

On paper this should be a fairly low key professional month, with Saturn spending his last full month in retrograde motion in your work sector, but as he's not turning direct until late June he won't begin slowing down until later in the month. Even though the pace of things on the work front will move from slow and steady to even slower and even more steady, this creates a month when your best work will be done behind the scenes and out of the limelight, doing all the behind the scenes work that will prepare you for a dramatic turnaround mid month. With things due to escalate dramatically from early July onwards, this gives you a chance to build some firm foundations, take care of any housekeeping and work on what's already on the table. Yet while this is a behind the scenes month on the work front this will be anything but dull. To start with that's for all the wrong reasons, with Saturn and your work sector under pressure in the first week of the month, creating some tension and pressure on the work front, however this should ease from the 9th May onwards. It's mid month that Saturn and your work sector are drawn back into the limelight again, this time for all the right reasons. It's Venus' retrograde turn in your income sector on the 16th May that will put her on the same page as Saturn, creating a strong alliance between these two planets and between conditions on the income and work fronts, with the door open to second chances on both fronts.

Gemini

When Mercury left your career sector on the 17th April it brought an active and defining 3 months to an end, during which time not only the Sun, Venus and Mercury moved through but Mercury visited twice and Neptune, planet of dreams and fantasies returned, making this his home for the next 14 years. Things are still settling down in the early days of the month and you're still processing everything that has passed under the bridge already this year and from this you're redefining your professional game plan. For the professional advantages and conditions you moved into 2012 with are not what you have now and as the game has changed and your chances have increased considerably, this is a valuable month to step back and get your bearings. If there is any professional pressure this month it's likely to be a case of work/life balance issues resurfacing and now that things have eased back, a challenge to appreciate the need for balance, now that you're in this for the long haul. There will be some interesting dynamics thrown into the mix during the days either side of a Full Moon in your work sector on the 6th May. As well as bringing things on the work front to a head and the power to get anything stuck moving, your hunches and your intuition will have a chance to pick up some valuable clues as to what lies ahead on the work front. For hidden within these potent lunar vibes will be clues for some major developments on the work front in the second half of the year.

Cancer

If you're longing for things to slow down and the extreme professional momentum of recent months to ease back to a more steady pace, you'll have to wait until the 9th May for that to happen. For as you move into the new month, Mercury is not only in his final days in your career sector, but he's wrapping up an active 3 months, that began on the 8th February. This period, from the 8th February to the 9th May, are the foundation months of your professional year, with everything you will experience over the course of the year having its roots in this period. That it's Mercury that is wrapping things up, in what is his second visit during this time, allows you to tie up loose ends, finalise your game plan and bring things up to speed in a smart and intellectually savvy way. Once Mercury leaves your career sector on the 9th May there is no danger of things dropping right off, with Uranus staying on in your career sector until 2019 to keep the momentum going, the North Node keeping things on the work front on track and a lunar eclipse early next month making it important to keep your options open. The early days of the month are all about taking a smart and intellectually savvy approach to tying up loose ends and putting your professional game or situations on the track you want them to continue on and up to speed. You'll need that intellectually savvy and smart approach for until Mercury leaves your career sector on the 9th May you're likely to be dealing with work/life balance issues, which you need to take seriously.

Leo

As Pluto spends his first full month in retrograde motion in your work sector there is a need to pace yourself and when it comes to your work situation itself, in terms of the hours worked and what it takes out of you, to dial it back and pace yourself. This is going to free you up to focus more on getting your career situation as a whole up to speed, at a time when you have the resources that will help put your career on the path that it will continue on, for not only the rest of the year, but for years to come. As you move into the new month the Sun and Jupiter are already in your career sector, together here for the first time since 2000. They're joined by Mercury from the 9th May to the 24th May, likewise teaming up with lucky Jupiter for the first time since 2000 and for the last time for another 12 years. With Jupiter himself leaving your career sector on the 12th June, it's time to bring things home. With Mercury's intellectual savvy, the Sun's vision and objectivity and with luck on your side, this is the month for putting everything you have into getting your professional objectives up to speed and on the right track, giving yourself something to aim and strive for. You know you have the work ethic to see things through, but until the Sun leaves your career sector on the 21st May, the focus is on creating a professional game plan or a roadmap that will keep your professional game on track for months and years to come. Because of this, this is a defining month on the career front.

Virgo

The focus is all on your career situation as a whole this month, which is why it will be important to pay attention when the Moon visits your work sector, from the 11th May to the 13th May, as these will be the only days this month to truly get your bearings on the work front and with work matters, ensuring that you have your finger on the pulse and your ear to the ground. For the month as a whole belongs to the growing focus on your career situation as a whole, even if to start with it's only your professional desires and your heart that has your attention. Venus, planet of desire and attraction returned to your career sector early last month, for what is normally a 4 week visit aimed at enhancing your professional desires and triggering the laws of attraction. That 4 weeks is up on the 2nd May, but instead of leaving Venus will instead slow down, taking away any urgency and as her speed drops back ahead of her retrograde turn on the 16th May, there'll be a sense that this is not the time to rush or push things. When Venus turns retrograde she'll not only open the door to second chances and a chance to tap into a valuable sense of hindsight, she'll team up with Saturn, who is already in retrograde motion in your income sector, creating a working partnership that will increase your odds on both fronts. Yet the focus won't all be on the past, with the Sun returning to your career sector on the 21st May, a solar eclipse on the same day opening some powerful new doors and Mercury returning on the 24th May. Even this is just the start of a major professional turnaround.

Libra

When Mercury left your work sector on the 17th April he wrapped up a busy and defining 3 months on the work front, that not only got your working year up to speed, but gave you a chance to settle into a new era that will extend out for many years to come. As things ease back this month your biggest challenge will be knowing how and when to get out of the fast lane and dial it back. When you've been frantically busy for so long and the focus has been on putting your head down and your tail up, putting everything you have into everything you do, this can become a habit and it's very easy to get caught up in the workaholic tendencies this can evoke. If there are work pressures this month look at where you might be creating challenges or expectations where there are none, knowing that it's now more about sustainability and momentum. Over the last 3 months you've been running a sprint but now you're running a marathon, which means pacing yourself. With new doors due to open on the career front from early next month, you need this month to get your bearings, catch your breath and process things before the next chapter begins. At a time when it's all about pacing yourself, remaining on track and lining up for new developments on the career front, the Moon's visits to your work and career sectors are the perfect time to fine tune things. The Moon will visit your work sector from the 13th May to the 16th May and your career sector, from the 23rd May to the 26th May, sharpening your professional instincts and ensuring that you have your finger on the pulse and your ear to the ground.

Scorpio

In the push to get your working year up to speed, projects you're working on up to speed and loose ends tied up, the early days of the month are the days for putting everything you have into everything you do. The most active and busiest 3 months of your working year began on the 8th February and will run its course on the 9th May, creating a sense of both urgency and pressure as you move into the new month. In the early days of the month you're in the final days of getting your working year up to speed and after the Sun and Venus have already moved through and on, it's up to intellectually savvy Mercury to tie up loose ends. Even if there wasn't pressure this would be a time for working smarter and for remaining objective, knowing that so long as you focus and approach things systematically, that you can accomplish a lot. While some of the pressure is coming from the fact that there is an urgent need to tie up loose ends and bring things up to speed, Mercury is facing an opposition with Saturn, that will come to a head on the 6th May. This is the same day as this month's Full Moon, in your sign, so it's likely to create a lot of intensity and emotional responses, when you most need to keep your cool and work smarter. Yet this is a speed bump that will force you to remain focused, ultimately making sure that no stone is left unturned. You'll find that any pressure eases back dramatically once Mercury leaves your work sector on the 9th May, but that things won't suddenly drop off. The level Mercury is able to get things to is where they'll stay, from this point becoming more about keeping the momentum going.

Sagittarius

On the professional front as a whole and on both the work and career fronts in particular, you're enjoying a major resurgence this month and a sense that things are coming together and falling into place. The turnaround began last month when Mars turned direct in your career sector, but having been in direct motion for just over 2 weeks when the new month begins you're only just starting to gain some momentum and speed, as old professional passions and that old fighting spirit return. It will take the Moon's visit to your career sector, from the 1st May to the 3rd May and alignment with Mars to really give things the nudge they need, with your professional instincts and passions aligning to get things moving. This is enough on its own to create a powerful professional month and a real turning point and with Mars not leaving until early July, time to bring things home. Yet there is an equally, if not, bigger game playing out on the work front, where the Sun and Jupiter teamed up late last month, for the first time here since 2000 and the last time for another 12 years, with Mercury returning from the 9th May to the 24th May to help bring things home. Jupiter, planet of luck and expansion will leave your work sector on the 12th June, so his last full month was always going to be about winding and wrapping things up. With the Sun and Mercury on board you have the objectivity and the intellectual savvy to see exactly where things stand and how to play things. Expect to be on top of your professional game in the month that everything until now has lead to and everything from now will lead on from.

Capricorn

With Saturn spending his last full month in retrograde motion in your career sector and due to begin slowing down as the month progresses, this should have been a fairly low key month, in the first 3 weeks anyway. The Sun will always return to your work sector 3 weeks into May and this month is no exception, returning on the 21st May, opening the door to the most important weeks on the work front in any year and a chance to bring things up to speed and focus on the future and road ahead. However, the Sun is not the first to arrive, for Venus returned early last month and as you move into the new month she's been here for almost 4 weeks, which is as long as she will normally stay, engaging your heart, your desires and triggering the laws of attraction. Yet that 4 week mark will be reached on the 2nd May, with no sign that Venus has any intention of leaving and instead she'll slow down, turning retrograde on the 16th May. With Saturn already in retrograde motion in your career sector this puts the only two planets active on the professional front in retrograde motion and as they pool their resources, this will open the door to second chances. Enjoy that total focus on the past, for while it will continue until later next month the focus will also shift to the future, when the Sun not only returns to your work sector on the 21st May, but he's followed just a few hours later by the Moon, not only forming a New Moon in the early hours of the Sun's month long visit, but a solar eclipse. With Mercury returning to your work sector on the 24th May things are only going to get busier, with his ability to help you work smarter coming in handy.

Aquarius

Having no planetary activity in either of your professional houses has been your reality every month so far this year, as is normally the case in the first half of each year. With the second half of each year always the most professionally focused, this is a time to let things settle and play out. However, this is the month when things start to heat up and with Mercury returning to your work sector early next month, it's also the last month when you're able to fly under the radar. For once things start to heat up, slowly at first they'll continue to build and by August you'll reach a point where the momentum won't slow down until 2015, 3 years later. So this really is a month for making the most of the lack of planetary influence and the chance this gives you to work at your own pace and prepare for a powerful professional surge. It's the Moon's visit to your work sector, from the 23rd May to the 26th May, his last visit before Mercury returns early next month, that will give you the tools and resources to start lining up, with some valuable clues and hunches available. However, it's the Moon's visit to your career sector, from the 5th May to the 7th May, that is likely to have the most significant impact, for as well as sharpening your professional instincts this will become a Full Moon on the 6th May, bringing things to a head or to a tipping point, as well as providing some valuable clues to the major developments on the career front in the second half of the year.

Pisces

You have a mixed bag on the professional front this month, for while you have no planetary activity in either of your professional houses, you have the North Node in your career sector, keeping things on track and keeping the momentum going. With a lunar eclipse in your career sector early next month, throughout the month you'll find clues and situations that will help line you up, for what will be the last real shift and the last wildcard the gods have to play. Until then it's about keeping the momentum going and working with the different energies that the North Node and your career sector is being influenced by. While there will be some work/life balance issues to deal with, these are unlikely to come to a head until later in the month, when first the Sun, on the 21st May and then Mercury, on the 24th May move into your home and family sector and into opposition with the North Node and your career sector. Yet the more you can deal with these issues earlier in the month, the more you'll be ready for them. At the same time Mercury's final days in your income sector, until leaving on the 9th May and the Moon's visit to both your work and career sectors will help sharpen your professional resolve and confidence. You will move into the new month with the Moon already in your work sector and while he will leave on the 1st May, you'll begin the month with your finger on the pulse and your ear to the ground. It's the Moon's visit to your career sector from the 7th May to the 9th May, in Mercury's final days in your income sector, that will sharpen your professional instincts and help line up your professional and income objectives. The Moon's return to your work sector from the 26th May to the 28th May, will help round off the month.
